World cricket’s latest sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has expressed his desire to play for India in the red ball format as well. The 15-year-old player’s comments come after his selection for the T20I format ahead of India’s tour to the UK.
Suryavanshi has done a lot in recent times to prove his immense talent by thrashing bowlers wherever he plays. Be it with India Under-19, Rajasthan Royals, or the state team, the result was the same: pure carnage.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi wants to play test
As of now, the Bihar batsman is mostly recognized as a batsman in the Twenty20 format. But he does not want to limit himself to just one format. On Sunday, Rajasthan Royals shared a video with their teenage opening batsman on their official social media account.
During the conversation, Vaibhav Suryavanshi told that he has heard a lot of discussion about red ball cricket, hence his aim is also to play red ball cricket.
AB de Villiers doubts teenage batsman’s goal score
Former South African cricketer AB de Villiers has some doubts about Suryavanshi’s goal of playing Tests. Villars has no doubt that the southpaw is extremely talented, but does Suryavanshi really want to do it himself? The former batsman raised the question.

“He’s an amazing talent. The red-ball thing I can’t answer at all. I think he can if he wants to, but your answer is, and the bigger question is also: Does he really want to do it? Only time will tell. There’s no doubt that he has the talent and ability to do it. It’s not always going to be easy, and I’ve mentioned that a few times before,” de Villiers said during an interview with NDTV in Mumbai on Sunday.
Villiers further mentioned that in Test cricket, there will be some challenges for the young batsmen who like to smash the bowlers around the park. So he directly says that he has doubts about the skilled batsman.
De Villiers said, “If he decides to play red-ball cricket, there will be some challenges, but he has the skills and the ability to work. In my opinion, I hope he will try to play, but I doubt it. We will see.”
On Saturday, Vaibhav Suryavanshi was officially named in the squad for India’s upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England. India will face Ireland for a 2-match T20 series and then England for a 5-match T20 series. Will Suryavanshi make its debut during the UK tour? This has been a question ever since the Ajit Agarkar-led team selected him in the main team.
