The photo collage shared by Bhuvneshwar Kumar from his official Instagram profile is continuously attracting the attention of the cricket world. Last night, it was Kumar’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate Devdutt Padiyakkal who offered a hilarious comment. Now, it is former international cricketer David Warner who has added his perspective in the comments section of the post.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar now has two IPL titles to his name. He won his first win with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in 2016. A decade later, he lifted the trophy with Royal Challengers Bangalore. Like Kumar, David Warner is also a former Sunrisers Hyderabad cricketer.

David Warner and SRH have a long history, which is no longer on a positive note. As soon as the former Australian opener commented on Kumar’s Instagram post, it attracted a lot of attention. As of now, Warner’s comment has more than 69 thousand likes and over a hundred replies.

David Warner took a dig at his former team

David Warner wrote, “Yeah brother, well done buddy, proud of you.” According to multiple posts and screenshots on the social media platform, Warner may have shared another comment in the same post, which is currently no longer available. The previous comment made by the Australian was more hilarious as fans could easily relate the relationship between SRH and Warner.

Warner’s previous comment read, “Well done, legend, great guy, good guy. So happy for you, buddy. SRH where you are now is an amazing story.”

The ‘X’ profile, from which the screenshot of the comment was shared, wrote ‘Warner still taking shots at SRH’ as the caption of the post.

What was the matter between SRH and Warner?

As mentioned earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad and David Warner have a long history together. From IPL 2014 to IPL 2021, Warner played for the franchise for seven consecutive seasons, including the IPL 2016 season when Hyderabad claimed the trophy. Warner could have been a stalwart player of the team, but the situation changed a lot and there were no signs of improvement.

Warner was the captain of the franchise but was unceremoniously removed mid-season. A dispute broke out between the two parties during the 2021 IPL season. He was not only removed from the captaincy role but was also dropped from the playing eleven.

In 2023 he realized that the franchise had blocked him on social media. At the time when he attempted to congratulate his fellow Australians (Pat Cummins and Travis Head) on their significant SRH contracts, Warner discovered that the franchise had blocked him on social media.

David Warner called this incident strange

The batsman later said, “It hurt because it was sad for the fans. The fans are the most important relationship you have. My connection with the fans and with the team was great.”

“I’m not sure why I was blocked. But I had engaged with a lot of fans on social media for SRH. I felt it was my duty to engage with the fans, make sure they keep coming back. That’s what’s most important. But from a blocking standpoint, I don’t know. I’ve been sitting on this for almost 5 years. It was weird. At the end of the day, I still have fans who come to my page and talk to everyone. So it’s great.”
