There is now uncertainty over whether Tait will reach Bangladesh as originally planned for the white-ball series against Australia. “I am not sure whether he (Tait) will come to join the team before the Australia series, given that he is not ready to continue citing family reasons,” a BCB official shared as quoted by Cricbuzz.

Meanwhile, there is also increasing talk about Shaun Tait’s goal of playing an important role in Indian domestic cricket. The former Australian fast bowler is reportedly interested in joining Bengal’s coaching setup, and he has already held discussions with CAB regarding the position.
Lakshmi Ratan Shukla Recently, he was retained as the head coach of the senior Bengal team, but the post of bowling coach is vacant and Tait is the frontrunner to join one of the successful domestic teams.
Tait, on the other hand, has been instrumental behind the recent improvement in Bangladesh’s bowling department since joining the setup in May 2025. He was known for his aggressive fast bowling during his playing days, and he brought the same intensity to Bangladesh’s pace attack.

He has worked closely with many young players and his biggest success story has been the rise of the young speedster Nahid Rana. The talented fast bowler has emerged as one of Bangladesh’s brightest stars, regularly troubling the batsmen with his blistering pace.
Although BCB has appreciated Tait’s work, family commitments are said to be the main reason behind his possible departure. People close to the situation believe that personal priorities have made it difficult for him to stay in Bangladesh for long.
Notably, Australia and Bangladesh are set to play three ODIs and three T20 matches. The ODI matches are scheduled to be held on June 9, 11 and 14 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.
After the ODI phase, the action will shift to Chattogram, where they will play three T20I matches Bir Shrestho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium On 17, 19 and 21 June respectively.
