Former India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Friday criticized his former IPL team, Rajasthan Royals, for not doing enough to support Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s 96-run knock against Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2026.

In a conversation with journalist Vimal Tiwari on his YouTube channel, Ashwin said that he was very disappointed with how the rest of the Rajasthan Royals team let Suryavanshi down. Ashwin said that Suryavanshi’s performance of nearly 800 runs in IPL 2026 deserved better.
“I’m sad,” Ashwin said. “Because he played very well in IPL 2026, scored almost 800 runs. But the most important thing for me was the innings that he played today. Of course, he had good luck, but the wicket was helping the bowlers. Bowlers who are some of the best in international cricket – Mohammed Siraj, Kagiso Rabada and Jason Holder.
