Brilliant stumping by Prabhsimran Singh. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) dangerous batsman Ayush Badoni had to go out after playing an explosive innings. Punjab Kings (PBKS) look in good position against the Rishabh Pant-led side tonight.
It is a must win match for PBKS as they are on a losing streak of 6 consecutive defeats. Punjab’s first duty is to score 2 points against Lucknow Super Giants to occupy the fourth position in the points table.

Ayush Badoni tried to change the pace.
The way Prabhsimran Singh uprooted the bails to dismiss Ayush Badoni shows how hungry he is for points from this match. Badoni posed a real threat through the middle. The middle-order batsman scored 43 runs in just 18 balls. Badoni’s innings contained five fours and three sixes.
It is noteworthy that Mitchell Marsh is not with the team for this match. Marsh’s absence is a big blow for LSG. Without the Australian batsmen in the line-up, LSG’s opening pair crumbled against the PBKS bowling attack.
Prabhsimran Singh did a brilliant job of stumping Badoni.
Ayush Badoni changed gears rapidly as soon as he entered the pitch. His big hits helped Lucknow to recover from the initial setbacks. Yuzvendra Chahal, who has ample experience, dismissed the batsman during the seventh over of the first innings after the power play. Badoni’s feet were just a few millimeters away from touching the ground before Prabhsimran Singh’s sharp hands hit the stumps.

The Punjab Kings wicketkeeper makes his presence felt throughout the process. Chahal bowled brilliantly on short sections of the pitch and off. Badoni stayed behind to play the cut shot, but could not make any connection with it.
Prabhasimran collected the ball behind the stumps and waited for a while before clubbing it to the bails. The keeper waited for the batsman to lift his feet from the crease. As soon as the batsman took his feet off the ground, Prabhsimran Singh saw his moment and hit the bails. Punjab Kings got this wicket against run off play.

An example of great presence of mind
The umpire went up to check the process. The third umpire first checks whether there is a thin feather attached between the bat and the ball. The UltraEdge meter shows a flat line, and then the umpire checks the stumping.
Replays showed that Badoni had lifted his foot slightly off the ground and at the same time Prabhsimrah Singh hit the stumps. A brilliant move by PBKS, especially credit to the keeper who showed his presence of mind.
To claim victory tonight, the Shreyas Iyer-led side will need something more special from the boys. Prabhsimran Singh gave one; Something else may come from other players as the match progresses.
