Young Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) batsman Mukul Chaudhary has shared a very special moment with Virat Kohli which he will hardly forget. Ahead of LSG’s final IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings on May 23, Mukul Chaudhary talked about the advice he received from Virat Kohli after his team’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru last month.
Even though Lucknow Super Giants lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore by five wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 17, Mukul learned a valuable lesson from the modern-day giants. The young batsman revealed how Kohli guided him on how to deal with pressure in T20 cricket.

On Saturday, May 21, Star Sports shared a video in which Mukul Chaudhary narrated how Virat Kohli explained to him that hitting sixes alone is not enough in modern cricket as many players can do it now.
The former Indian captain suggested that LSG’s young players understand the importance of staying till the end and finishing the game properly when the team is under pressure.

The young batsman also revealed that Kohli had talked about his brilliant innings against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) earlier this season and asked him to continue batting with the same calm mindset.
Kohli told Mukul that if he wants to be a top player in the future then he has to learn how to hold one end when wickets are falling from the other side.

Mukul Chaudhary became a hero overnight after the brilliant innings of KKR.
Notably, Mukul Chaudhary became a big name overnight after his brilliant innings against KKR at the Eden Gardens on April 9. Coming to bat in a pressure situation, the youngster scored an unbeaten 54 off just 27 balls and helped LSG seal a thrilling last-ball win against KKR.
The 21-year-old player hit seven sky-high sixes in that innings and surprised everyone with his fearless batting. His performance impressed not only the fans but also LSG head coach Justin Langer.

The former Australian great had praised Mukul’s natural power-hitting ability and even said that the youngster has the potential to become one of India’s most dangerous finishers in the future. Interestingly, Mukul always looks up to MS Dhoni and tries to imitate his cool finishing style and helicopter shots.
However, after this innings, Choudhary was not able to make much of an impact, scoring only 169 runs in 9 innings for LSG in the tournament at an average of 33.80 and a strike rate of 144.44.
