Former Pakistan cricketer Abdur Rauf Khan has said that the team should not expect any results from its current captain Shan Masood. Pakistan is currently playing a test series against Bangladesh in Bangladesh.
This series is part of the World Test Championship for the 2025-27 cycle. The second Test of this series began on 16 May after Bangladesh won the first Test by 104 runs. Bangladesh continued its dominance over Pakistan in the second test. Bangladesh players continued their form from the first Test in Mirpur to the second Test in Sylhet.

Bangladesh set a target of 437 runs
Pakistan captain Shan Masood invited the home team to bat and his move seemed to be paying off. Khurram Shahzad and Mohammad Abbas broke the line-up to leave Bangladesh in trouble at 116/6.
Wicketkeeper Liton Das then saved the collapse as creditably as possible with a fighting century. Das made important partnerships of 60 with Taijul Islam, 38 with Taskin Ahmed and 64 with Shoriful Islam respectively.
Pakistan’s reply was also no better. Babar Azam scored 68 runs, but the only other player to score 25 was Sajid Khan, who scored 38. Nahid Rana and Taijul Islam gave Bangladesh a slight lead by taking three wickets each.

In the second innings, Mushfiqur Rahim scored a national record 14th Test century and was supported by fifties from Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Liton Das. Khurram Shahzad once again took 4 wickets like in the first innings, but Pakistan’s final target reached 437.
At stumps on the fourth day, all three of Shan Masood, Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha had scored over 70, inching closer to the target. When the fifth day starts on Wednesday, Pakistan will need 121 runs to win, while Bangladesh will need only 3 wickets. Taijul Islam has so far added 4 wickets to his three wickets in the first innings.

Shan Masood’s record as test captain
Ever since Shan Masood took over the command, he has been unable to bring any significant results for the Test team.
Before the start of the ongoing Test match against Bangladesh, Masood has led Pakistan to just 4 wins and 11 losses in 15 matches. Masood has won only one series out of six as captain, which also includes a 0-2 whitewash against Bangladesh at home.
