Match number 63 between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL). The Orange Army has dealt a double blow to Ruturaj Gaikwad’s team as they are stuck in the race for the playoffs after this defeat. SRH won this match by 5 wickets. With the win, they sealed a place in the playoffs and also qualified Gujarat Titans along with them.

Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bat first. They made one change with Gurjanpeet Singh going out when Akeal Hosein came in. Pat Cummins, on the other hand, made no changes. It was important for both the franchises to win this match, but the home team failed. The game went well as fans came in large numbers.
IPL 2026: CSK vs SRH Match Result:
After electing to bat first, Gaikwad and Sanju Samson made an aggressive start to the game. The latter was the aggressive one between the two and played strokes around the ground, but was dismissed by Cummins on 27 off 13 balls. Urvil Patel hit two sixes in the first three balls he faced.

Urvil was trying to hit every ball out of the park but was outfoxed by a slower ball from Saqib Hussain as the batsman’s stumps were shaken and he was back on 13 runs from 8 balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Karthik Sharma formed a partnership after two quick wickets fell. But the latter came back after scoring 32 runs.
Ruturaj soon finished with a low score of 15 off 21 balls, failing to hit a single four in the match as his counterpart Pat Cummins took his wicket. CSK were struggling at 100/4 where Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dubey decided to change gears. Brewis scored 44 runs on 27 balls and Dubey scored 26 runs.
The men in yellow managed a total of 180/7 in their 20 overs, with Prashant Veer scoring 11 runs from 9 balls and Akeal Hosein, who faced one ball, scoring three runs.

Abhishek Sharma, while chasing the target, made a great start. He became aggressive after Travis Head was out for just 6 runs. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek again put up a partnership, but with the wicket slowing down, the run flow stopped and the CSK bowlers bowled hard and did not let the two southpaws empty their hands.
Due to pressure, Abhishek lost his wicket at the score of 26 runs. Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen made a partnership of 50 runs in 28 balls. There was a partnership of 75 runs between them before the South African batsman came back, in which he scored 47 runs in 26 balls and soon the South African batsman completed his half-century in 37 balls. Kishan played a sensational inning of 70 runs and led his team to victory.
