Shan Masood accepts ICC charges after slow over rate offense
The punishment was given by Jeff Crowe of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees. On the other hand, on-field umpires Richard Kettleborough and Kumar Dharmasena along with third umpire Allahuddin Palekar and fourth umpire Ghazi Sohail blamed Pakistan.
The ICC said in an official statement: “Under Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with minimum over-rate offences, players are fined five per cent of their match fee for each over their team fails to bowl within the allotted time.

As per Article 16.11.2 of the World Test Championship playing conditions, teams lose one championship point for each over bowled short, resulting in Pakistan losing eight vital points in the WTC standings. Pakistan captain Shan Masood pleaded guilty and accepted the proposed ban, eliminating the need for a formal hearing.
Pakistan is eyeing a strong comeback in Sylhet as Bangladesh has suffered a major setback.
Meanwhile, the second and final WTC Test will be played at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet from May 16, and Shan Masood’s side will be hoping for a strong comeback to level the Test series and clinch those crucial WTC points.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, suffered a major blow as their star opener Shadman Islam was ruled out of the second and final Test against Pakistan after suffering a chest injury during the first Test while attempting a catch in Dhaka. The host team has included Zakir Hasan in place of Shadman in the squad for the Sylhet Test.
