Lawyer files major case against Yograj Singh claiming he made derogatory remarks on women
Based on the dialogues spoken by Yograj during the shooting of some scenes in the recently released show ‘Lukkhe’ which is streaming live on Prime Video platform, he will now have to grapple with legal issues related to his derogatory comments on women.

Speaking to IANS, lawyer Ujjwal Bhasin claimed that such derogatory remarks were not expected from a person like former cricketer Yograj Singh, who has turned to acting and has acted in several films and series in his career.
She said, “His (Yograj Singh’s) statements point towards women who go out to work and then cook for the family after returning home. Mothers, sisters, wives and daughters all take care of the family. So yesterday evening, I lodged a complaint with the Chandigarh SSP.”
How has Chandigarh Police been brought directly into the scenario in the web series ‘Lukhe’?
However, he claimed that he has not yet received any call from the department regarding the matter. However, he highlighted that the Chandigarh SSP is a woman, and hence, he has taken cognizance of the matter.

Bhasin said, “She (Chandigarh SSP) is a very capable officer, which is why she has also been given an extension of one year. I believe that once she hears the comment, she will immediately take action on it because it is clear from the video that the statement is against a woman, who is wearing a police uniform.”
The lawyer also said, “It is very surprising that the actor is wearing Chandigarh Police uniform while shooting a film. The name of the woman who played that role is Gurbani Kaur. The name has attached emotions to the people.”
He further said that the word ‘Gurbani’ means that Sikhs refer to the various compositions of the Sikh Gurus, and the word is pronounced with great respect.
Lawyer Ujjwal threatened Yograj Singh with a court case.
The lawyer claimed that if the Chandigarh SSP did not take any action on the matter, he would have to approach the court to seek justice.
She said, “I have also appealed to the Women’s Commission to take suo motu action against him (Yograj Singh) because the statement is indicative not only of the women of Chandigarh but also of all the women across the country who leave their homes to earn a living.”
He said that the dialogues made by Yograj Singh are objectionable and appealed to the police to file an FIR against the makers of the alleged web series ‘Lukhe’. He claimed that even mothers do not send their children to his academy.
Advocate Bhasin said, “I don’t think anyone will consider him (Yograj Singh) as their role model from now on. Young people will also stop coming to him for coaching. Their mothers will not send them to him after hearing his comments.”
