The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Thursday (May 14) announced the India A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka. The Indian selectors have picked some exciting names in the squad who have made headlines in the ongoing IPL 2026.
The selectors have selected a 15-member squad based on the performances of the players in the ongoing IPL 2026, and with their selection, they have made their intentions clear that there is no looking back as the next generation is set to take over Indian cricket.
BCCI announces explosive India A squad for Sri Lanka tour
Young batting sensation Tilak Verma has been appointed captain of the India A team for the upcoming ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka, while Riyan Parag has been appointed as the vice-captain.

One of the biggest talking points has been the selection of young batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has earned an India A call-up for the first time after his explosive performances for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing IPL 2026.
The 15-year-old has impressed everyone with his fearless batting and dominance against the top bowlers in the tournament. Vaibhav has scored 440 runs for Rajasthan Royals this season at an incredible strike rate of over 235.
Four players of PBKS have got place in India A team
Apart from Vaibhav, in-form Punjab Kings (PBKS) batsmen Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya have been rewarded for their explosive performances in IPL 2026 and have been selected in the Indian A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series against Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A.
Prabhsimran has been one of the most consistent batsmen this season, scoring 382 runs so far at an impressive average of 42.44 and a brilliant strike rate of 169.03. Priyansh, on the other hand, made headlines with his fearless batting style and incredible attacking intent.
The young PBKS opener has scored 342 runs in 10 innings at a strike rate of 226.49. Additionally, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey has also been included in the squad for the first time after his stellar performances in the ongoing IPL 2026.

Anshul Kamboj and Arshad Khan’s IPL 2026 form earns them India A selection
The SRH star has taken 8 wickets in 8 matches. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings star fast bowler Anshul Kamboj has also been given a big chance to impress the selectors in Sri Lanka after creating a stir with his bowling in IPL 2026.
Kamboj has already taken 19 wickets in 11 matches for CSK at an impressive economy rate of 9.20. Gujarat Titans fast bowler Arshad Khan will also be seen in action for India A in the upcoming ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka.
After the one-day tri-series, India A will also play two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A in Galle. The squads and schedule for the red-ball matches between India A and Sri Lanka A will be announced later. Suryansh Shedge’s power hitting for PBKS also earned him a place in the team.
