A major Indian Premier League (IPL) ticket black-marketing scam has rocked the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) during the IPL 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Friday, May 8.
The shocking incident has sent officials into a tizzy after Delhi Police allegedly busted an illegal ticket selling operation near the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Thursday.

Illegal ticketing network in IPL 2026 exposed in Delhi Police raid
After Delhi Capitals’ crushing eight-wicket defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders, Jagran News journalist Abhishek Tripathi revealed that Delhi Police raided a petrol pump located near the Arun Jaitley Stadium at around 3 pm on the match day.

During the operation, officials recovered 34 complimentary passes along with 20 regular match tickets, and the most shocking thing is that the petrol pump was regularly used for black marketing of IPL tickets during Delhi Capitals home matches in Delhi.

This incident has now raised serious questions on DDCA’s ticket management this season. Complimentary passes are not normally for sale, but fans were reportedly being sold them illegally at very high prices for high-voltage IPL matches.
DDCA officials involved in massive IPL ticket black marketing scam
This controversy has become even more serious as DDCA’s name has also been linked to black marketing of tickets. It is being said that some DDCA employees may be involved in illegal sale of tickets and complimentary passes in Delhi.

The development has sparked a sharp reaction among fans, as many of them have often complained about the difficulty in getting tickets for IPL matches online, while black market sales continue outside the stadiums.
Delhi Capitals is out after a crushing defeat against KKR
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals’ IPL 2026 playoff hopes ended after another painful defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. At one time they looked like strong contenders for the playoffs, but consistent poor performances and wrong decisions have pushed them down the table.
KKR completely dominated the match from the beginning. KKR spinners Sunil Narine, Varun Chakraborty and Anukul Roy trapped the Delhi batsmen and never allowed them to settle down. After struggling throughout the innings, DC could only score 142/8 in 20 overs.
The chase turned out to be one-sided as Finn Allen played a sensational innings and scored his maiden IPL century, while Cameron Green added 33 not out as KKR chased down the target comfortably with eight wickets and 34 balls to spare, registering their fourth consecutive win.
