The Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 has crossed the halfway mark, and fans have witnessed some amazing encounters from Super Overs to the highest run chases and some breathtaking centuries. The tournament will enter its 44th match tonight as two of the most successful teams, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), take on Mumbai Indians (MI).
Ahead of IPL’s El Clasico, the India women’s national cricket team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026 was announced. During the same press conference, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devjit Saikia provided an update on the IPL as he mentioned the date of announcement of the playoff date for IPL 2026.

BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “The IPL playoff schedule is coming in two days. The BCCI is seriously thinking about taking such steps so that the reputation of the IPL is not harmed.”
