Kyle Jamieson punished for misbehavior with Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Delhi Capitals secured their fourth win of this IPL season after defeating Rajasthan Royals in their last game at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 1.

However, what happened in the early stages of the match caught the attention of the BCCI. DC fast bowler Kyle Jamieson bowled the second over of the game and hit a four on the very first ball.

The second ball was a brilliant comeback for Kyle Jamieson, who clean bowled the in-form youngster with a low full toss. After getting out, Jameson approached the youngster very aggressively, where he looked in high spirits and went very close to the batsman during his celebration.

Despite BCCI fine, former New Zealand fast bowler supports Jamieson

The BCCI considered this a Level 1 breach of the IPL code of conduct, as they also argued that the bowler was too close to the batsman during the celebration. Therefore, he was reprimanded and warned, as well as fined and the Kiwi pacer was given one demerit point.

Amidst all this, Kyle Jamieson received support from his former teammate and New Zealand fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan, who is currently part of the Star Sports team of experts in this edition of the IPL. The former MI fast bowler said that from the team’s point of view it was a big wicket and Kyle Jamieson’s celebration was a reflection of the natural reaction.

McClenaghan said, “It was a big moment in the game and you could see the emotion in that celebration. When you’re up against a young batsman who has been dominating the bowlers throughout the tournament, the natural reaction is to get his wicket early.”
