Australia’s men’s cricket team is on top in the Test rankings. The recently released annual rankings show that Australia continues to top the World Test Championship points table with 87.50 per cent, while New Zealand, placed second in the rankings, has a win ratio of 77.78 per cent in the current World Test Championship cycle.
Like the men’s cricket team, the Australia women’s cricket team had dominated the One Day International format in the previous year’s cycle. Despite a slight drop of two rating points to 163, they remain on top of the table in this format, with England in second place on 128 points, still behind by a significant margin despite a two-point lead.

“The annual rankings update considers all matches played from May 2025 onwards at full weightage (100 per cent), while the results of the last two years are considered at 50 per cent,” the International Cricket Council (ICC) said in an official release on the first day of May, 2026.
It added, “The annual update had no impact on the top two in the men’s Test rankings, with Australia continuing their reign at No. 1, consolidating their position with a three-point rise to 131.”
