Bangladesh national cricket team will host Pakistan national cricket team for a two-match test series. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the squad last night, with Nazmul Hossain Shanto leading the side for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-2027 cycle. Earlier, Bangladesh had created a record by winning the Test series against Pakistan in Pakistan last year.

However, ahead of the first Test match, an injury issue has emerged with the team captain, who suffered a hamstring injury during the third ODI against New Zealand in Chattogram. Nazmul Hossain Shanto suffered an injury while scoring his century, his first injury in more than two years, and then opted to rest the injury.

He (Nazmul Hussain Shanto) will come tomorrow – Debashish Chaudhary

According to a Cricbuzz report, it is believed that Nazmul Hossain Shanto will be available for the first Test, which is scheduled to be held on May 8 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Despite the injury, Najumul Hossain Shanto visited the practice session and spoke to the Test players who were being trained by Sohail Islam.

“it [the injury] “I don’t find it that bad,” BCB chief physician Debashish Choudhary told Cricbuzz on Monday. “He (Nazmul Hussain Shanto) will come tomorrow (Tuesday) and we will see him. And from what I’ve heard and the information I’ve got, it doesn’t seem that bad to me,” he said.

He said, “At present he has no pain and there is no pain while walking. We will also physically examine him tomorrow.”

We did very well- Habibul Bashar

Earlier, chief selector Habibul Bashar had hinted at a change in intentions to play Test cricket for Bangladesh in the coming years. As if they will adopt an attacking stance going forward. It will be interesting to see whether this change helps Bangla Tigers in the future, as many teams have failed to win by adopting this approach.

“This series that we are going to play is part of our Test Championship. Of course, as of now we cannot proudly say that we have performed very well in the Test Championship. Our plan is to perform well in this Test Championship. Earlier we did not perform very well, so we want to take ourselves a little bit higher from there,” Bashar said at a press conference in Chattogram along with fellow selector Nayeem Hasan.

We can play cricket in a different way – Habibul Bashar

“To do that, we can play cricket in a different way. We can move towards a more attacking style of cricket. You have seen we have brought in a new opener – that is part of the plan. Our bowling side is fine. We have the ability to take 20 wickets.”

“If we can maintain consistency in batting, Bangladesh will do well in the Test Championship. The style may change a bit. I am not saying buzzball, but the style may change,” he said.
