Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Rinku Singh is on fire tonight as he has now made an impact on the field after batting till the end for the Knight Riders.

When Lucknow Super Giants were looking to settle on a batting partnership between captain Rishabh Pant and opener Aiden Markram, a magical moment from Rinku Singh helped the three-time champions get back into the contest.

In contrast, Kolkata Knight Riders struggled to score runs early in their innings, but Rinku Singh, who spent some time at the crease later on, helped the Knights in the death overs by making a 60+ partnership for the eighth wicket with Sunil Narine.

Rinku Singh’s stunning effort provides game-saving breakthrough for KKR

For Kolkata Knight Riders, whenever the term “game-saving” has been used, the man who has stepped up for them has been Rinku Singh. Having proved it on several occasions before, he did it in the end of the innings in the last game against Rajasthan Royals.

On the other hand, he did a remarkable job on the field as he took a brilliant catch to dismiss Aiden Markram, who was trying to settle the innings. With such a small score, KKR could not afford to build partnerships and Rinku was more responsible for that success.

Attempting to help out long off-field, Aiden Markram did not find the height on that occasion, and Rinku, despite not being one of the tallest men on the field, took the catch, kept it within play and then returned to complete the catch safely.

Sunil Narayan gave KKR a chance to return to the match by dismissing Rishabh Pant.

When Cameron Green hit a four in his second over after the fall of Aiden Markram, Sunil Narine returned to dismiss Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant for the first time in IPL history.

Pant sent him to the fence on the first ball, and Narine responded with a tight line and length, but the LSG skipper had no intention of backing down. When he attempted a reverse sweep, the ball deflected slightly off his gloves and was quickly caught by wicketkeeper Tim Seifert.

The wicketkeeper forced the captain to review and as he challenged the field umpire’s decision, the TV umpire overturned the call and declared Rishabh Pant out.
