Match between KKR and PBKS at Eden Gardens canceled due to rain
Kolkata Knight Riders captain Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and decided to bat first against Punjab Kings. Xavier Bartlett made good use of the overcast conditions to dismiss Finn Allen and Cameron Green early. The home team’s score was 25/2 in 3.4 overs before play was stopped due to rain.
The groundsmen immediately covered the Eden Gardens pitch due to strong winds and heavy rain. The rain stopped for a while and the covers were removed, but soon the rain returned. Water near the boundary created unsafe conditions in the outfield, making it impossible to resume play.
The match umpires conducted several inspections before calling off the game with the consent of both captains. Kolkata Knight Riders earned a point after their two losses, while Shreyas Iyer-led Punjab Kings remained unbeaten this season.
