Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, Match No. 13 was between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. RR beat MI by 27 runs in a rain-interrupted match. RR vs MI match starts at 10:10 PM IST. Play was interrupted due to rain and reduced to 11 overs per side. The power play was of 3.2 overs.
MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. They made three changes, with the captain returning from illness and Corbin Bosch making way for Trent Boult. Allah Ghazanfar has also returned in place of Mitchell Santner. It was an exceptional debut from young openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
IPL 2026: RR vs MI Match Result
Jaiswal scored 22 runs in the first over of Deepak Chahar. In the next over, the most anticipated battle of the RR vs MI clash was visible when Suryavanshi hit a six off the first ball of the southpaw to Jasprit Bumrah against the MI bowler. 14 runs were scored in the second over. In the next over, Trent Boult also went for 22 runs.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi had no intention of slowing down as he hit a six off the very first ball to Shardul Thakur, who had hit a six off the first ball in the first game of the IPL. However, Thakur fell heavily on the young batsman on the last ball of the over and Suryavanshi was out on the score of 39 runs.
80 runs were scored for the first wicket between the two openers of RR. The adage as one wicket leads to another proved true as Dhruv Jurel was out in Ghazanfar’s next over as Royals were reduced to 84/2. However, Jaiswal had no plans of slowing down as he kept playing his shots and brought up his half-century in 23 balls.
Ghazanfar ended Riyan Parag’s innings of 20 runs in 10 balls. Jaiswal remained unbeaten on 77 off 32 balls and Shimron Hetmyer scored 6 off 7 balls as RR finished at 150 in 11 overs.
Chasing the target of 151 runs, MI openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton were alert; However, Rickelton returned to the pavilion after scoring 8 runs, while Jofra Archer returned after being hit for a six on the previous ball. From there, MI never came back as they kept losing wickets.
Captain Hardik Pandya and Tilak Verma returned to the pavilion with the score of 46/5 in the overs of Suryakumar Yadav, followed by Rohit Sharma and then Ravi Bishnoi. Then Naman Dheer and Sherfane Rutherford tried to bring him back into the game. The latter was out on the score of 25 runs in 8 balls.
Dhir then returned with 25 off 13 balls as MI were reduced to 103/7 and MI could only score 123/9 in their 11 overs. RR won their third consecutive game and after the RR vs MI game, RR moved to the top of the table with another impressive performance.
