MS Dhoni and Dewald Brevis are close to full fitness after three consecutive defeats in the ongoing tournament, which is likely to be a big boost for Chennai Super Kings (CSK). According to a report in Indian Express, Dhoni and Brewis may make a comeback in Chennai Super Kings’ match against Delhi Capitals (DC).
Before the Punjab Kings match, Dhoni trained at the MAC B ground and had an extensive batting session. On the eve of the match, he batted on the practice pitches in the main stadium without any problems. The Super Kings have given him time to fully recover, keeping him in contention for the DC match.
MS Dhoni, who led Chennai Super Kings to five IPL titles, has not been able to play three matches due to calf strain. He will have to undergo an important fitness test in the next two days before the match.
If Dhoni passes the fitness test, he is expected to play against Delhi Capitals in Chepauk on Saturday. The wicketkeeper-batsman injured his calf during the preparation camp and has not played in the IPL so far.
MS Dhoni is not traveling for overseas matches with Chennai Super Kings. He was also absent for the crucial home match against Punjab Kings in Chepauk last Friday. Although Dhoni has been attending training sessions regularly, he is not going to the stadium on match days due to protocols.
