The normal board meeting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has turned into a full-blown crisis, with several top directors submitting their resignations. There is a strong possibility that the current administration will not last long.
The situation deteriorated so rapidly that even senior officials admitted that the Bangladesh Cricket Board was on the verge of dissolution. The atmosphere inside the board has become very tense and the uncertainty has created a tense atmosphere in the entire cricket structure.

According to Cricbuzz report, four BCB directors including Saniyan Tanim, Mehrab Alam, Faizur Rahman and Manjurul Alam have resigned from their posts after the board meeting. Even before this mass departure, two more important members had already left BCB in chaos. Amjad Hussain resigned after being removed as chairman of the media committee, and Ishtiaq Sadiq also left his game development committee role. Both cited personal reasons, but with time it became clear that something was wrong inside the board.
BCB President refused to go
Amidst this uproar, BCB President Aminul Islam has adopted a tough stance. Islam has decided to remain in his post till the last day. He avoided the press conference after the board meeting because he did not want to face criticism in the media, especially regarding the ongoing investigation into the controversial election.
But later in a TV program, Aminul made it clear that he was not going anywhere. He believes that the rest of the directors are hard-working and honest and he wants to remain with them to protect Bangladesh cricket in these difficult times.
Claims of outside interference add more drama
Aminul also indicated that an outside group was continuously interfering in the operations of the board. According to him, this interference has slowed down progress and made it almost impossible for the board to function independently.

The next few days will be very important for Bangladesh cricket. The board is under immense pressure with the departure of so many directors, the steadfastness of the chairman and the election scrutiny.
I will be the last person to go till the last day: Aminul Islam
“I will take up a chair there because I will be the last one to go till the last day, Inshallah. Our team (board of directors) is good, and they are dedicated and honest, so I want to work with this team and serve Bangladesh cricket,” Aminul Islam said on Jamuna TV, as quoted by Cricbuzz.
The President said, “We could not work with freedom even for a day, because an external force was always troubling us and is still doing so. You must support us, and you know who I mean because without support we cannot move forward. Our cricket is stagnant, and I have said many times that an external force is troubling us, and because of this the pace of our cricket has slowed down.”
