Ravichandran Ashwin vented out his anger at his former franchise CSK and also blamed Lucknow Super Giants for reducing the stock price of Indian spinner Ravi Bishnoi, who he thought would be worth around Rs 10-12 crore.
Ravi Bishnoi and Ravindra Jadeja are the new centers of the spin department for the Royals. Earlier, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal had formed a pair for the franchise Rajasthan Royals. He was also named Player of the Match after leading Royals to their second win in IPL 2026.

“It’s time to give him credit. He has the purple cap now, the cap looks good on his head because he had a challenging season with LSG last year. He wasn’t even traded after that, he was just put back in the auction pool. I was pretty sure he would go for 10-12 crores, and that didn’t happen,” Ashwin pointed out.

Former spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has criticized Chennai Super Kings, believing that CSK should have bought Ravi Bishnoi instead of investing in Rahul Chahar. He seemed unhappy that when the franchise crossed the Rs 7 crore mark, he withdrew his name.
The 39-year-old further added, “CSK came back for Rs 7 crore because they were saying that there is not much difference between Ravi Bishnoi and Rahul Chahar. The way LSG handled him is the reason why Ravi Bishnoi’s stock price fell. I am eagerly waiting to see Ravi Bishnoi make a comeback as Ravi Bishnoi 2.0.”
Rahul Chahar has failed to impress the Super Kings in the recent matches, especially in the match against Punjab Kings where he gave away runs at an economy rate of around 11 when he was brought in as an impact player.
