New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry gave the much-needed success to Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The experienced fast bowler bowled out Punjab Kings (PBKS) impact player Priyansh Arya, who was toying with the CSK bowlers at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Instead of sending Cooper Connolly as the opening batsman along with Prabhsimran Singh, PBKS sent Priyansh Arya, who scored a century in the Indian Premier League last year, as their impact player. Arya became extremely impressive as he scored 39 runs in just 11 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes.

When it looked almost impossible to stop the batsman, Matt Henry’s back-of-the-length delivery did the trick for the home team, Chennai Super Kings.

The ball, which was moving away from an attacking batsman, took a cartwheel off the off stump. Priyansh Arya swung his bat hard but missed every part of the ball. “CSK got the first wicket of the match and it was a big thing for them,” Henry roared.

Punjab Kings surprised everyone by sending Priyansh Arya as their influential player and opener.

In Punjab Kings’ previous match, Australian all-rounder Cooper Connolly opened the innings for them against Gujarat Titans (GT) and sealed the team’s victory by scoring an unbeaten fifty. Many cricket fans were hoping to see the Australian back in the opening batsman role alongside Prabhsimran Singh. But everyone was surprised when he sent Priyansh Arya to start the run chase.

Batting first, the home team, Chennai Super Kings, registered an impressive score of 209 runs at the cost of the wicket. Despite losing their star batsman Sanju Samson at the beginning of the innings, the stormy batting of Ayush Mhatre, Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dubey ensured the score for the team. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad also showed his composure with the aggressive Ayush Mhatre when the team needed a steady partnership in the middle.

Arya’s wicket once again changed the course of the match

In response to the explosive innings of the CSK batsmen, PBKS needed the same to claim the total. Priyansh Arya took the run rate to the sky without any delay. When he left, PBKS had already scored 61 runs in just 4.2 overs. Matt Henry himself was very expensive against Arya. But that one delivery again changed the complexion of the contest. At present, both the teams have equal chances to win in Chennai.
