Former Pakistan batsman Ahmed Shehzad is in legal trouble after making serious public allegations against the former national team captain. Cyber crime officials have started investigation and have summoned the batsman for questioning over controversial statements made on various platforms.
According to prominent Pakistani journalist Salim Khaliq, the former captain lost his patience after repeatedly facing baseless allegations. The Captain took the legal route by filing a formal complaint. The Cyber Crime Department has called Shehzad to its Lahore office for official questioning.

According to reports, former captain Babar Azam is taking strict legal action. Following Pakistan’s early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024, Ahmed Shehzad repeatedly accused Babar Azam of poor leadership, favoritism and damaging the national team setup.
Babar began collecting evidence in June 2024 with the support of the Pakistan Cricket Board’s legal team. He has targeted former players and YouTubers for spreading baseless allegations of misconduct and match-fixing after the tournament.
Pakistani journalist Salim Khaliq reported developments in the case. He shared the update on social media, revealing the involvement of law enforcement agencies and a cyber crime investigation against the former opening batsman.

A look at Ahmed Shehzad’s career
Ahmed Shehzad has been absent from the Pakistan national team since his last international match during the home series against Sri Lanka in 2019. Despite remaining active in cricket, the 33-year-old now mainly appears on television as a vocal critic of the national team.
During his international career, Ahmed Shehzad played 13 Tests and scored 982 runs at an average of 40.91. His record includes three centuries and four half-centuries, although he mostly focused on the limited overs format.
In white-ball cricket, Ahmed Shehzad scored 2,605 runs in 81 ODI matches at an average of 32.56. He scored 1,471 runs at an average of 25.80 in 59 T20Is, including an unbeaten 111 against Bangladesh.
A look at Babar Azam’s career
Babar Azam remains a key member of the Pakistan national team across all formats and remains one of their most important players. The top-order batsman led the team but stepped down from the captaincy in 2024.
In Test cricket, Babar Azam has scored more than 4,300 runs in 61 matches at an average of 42.39, which includes 9 centuries and 30 half-centuries. He has consistently performed well for Pakistan in challenging conditions.
Babar has been equally impressive in limited overs cricket. He has scored over 6,500 runs in 140 ODIs at an average of over 53, as well as over 4,500 runs in 144 T20Is. The right-handed batsman was last seen in action during the T20 World Cup 2026 and was dropped from the squad for the Bangladesh ODIs.
