Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has been surrounded by scams in his life. He is currently being accused of physical abuse cases in two different states in India, one of which also involves a POCSO violation. He has been absent from the initial training sessions of RCB.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are troubled by injury problems ahead of the upcoming IPL season, where they will be defending their title in the IPL for the first time. However, Yash Dayal’s absence has sparked several rumors on social media about RCB releasing the player ahead of the 2026 edition of the competition.
Royal Challengers Bangalore ended their 18-year long wait and gave their loyal fans something to celebrate after a wait of almost two decades. The Rajat Patidar-led side defeated Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings to win their first title in 2025.
Why is Yash Dayal absent from RCB training session?
Yash Dayal emerged as the main fast bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last IPL season of 2025. Dayal was picked up by RCB after Gujarat Titans released him after a poor season, where he was hit for five sixes in a single over.
Under the guidance of Virat Kohli, Dayal’s confidence increased and this bowler emerged as an excellent option for the challengers in the death overs. Dayal mostly worked with Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the death overs and Josh Hazlewood was mostly used with the new ball.
However, after a victorious campaign in 2025, when Yash took 13 wickets and contributed significantly to his team’s success, cases of physical abuse were filed against him by two girls in different states of India.
The fast bowler was not seen in RCB’s first training session at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Recently, pictures of RCB’s team bus for the upcoming season surfaced on social media and Yash Dayal was not seen in it either. This led fans to speculate that RCB might have released him before the upcoming season due to his ongoing legal troubles.
RCB has not responded to this issue and has not yet issued any statement in this regard.
Yash Dayal is in controversy since IPL 2025
Just days after RCB’s victorious campaign in IPL 2025, two tragic incidents hit the camp. One of these was the unfortunate stampede at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, which led to widespread allegations.
The second was humiliating, as one of their leading players, Yash Dayal, was accused of physical and sexual abuse by two different women. One of them was a minor, and hence, he was booked under the POCSO Act, which ensures the protection of children against sexual offences.
He was repeatedly denied bail by lower courts, but later in January 2026, the Jaipur High Court granted him anticipatory bail in a case. However, the investigation is still ongoing, and the player has not been part of any domestic structure for almost a year.
According to media reports and a short reel uploaded by social media influencer Shweta Pundir, Dayal married her in a private ceremony in Noida on February 4 last month.
What are the options if RCB drops Yash Dayal from the playing eleven in 2026?
The Challengers may consider sidelining the left-arm pacer, but in those circumstances, they need to pick players from their bench who are ready to make a similar impact to Yash Dayal. The bowler was recently seen training alone in a viral social media video.
RCB looked to invest big in Madhya Pradesh player Mangesh Yadav, who is a left-arm fast bowling all-rounder. Remarkably, RCB picked up the debutant with zero domestic experience for Rs 5.2 crore.
They will also have players like Rasikh Dar, who can be used as a frontline bowler this season after being kept on the bench last time. Abhinandan Singh is another medium pacer in the team, who was picked by the scouts from the UP T20 League even before he made his debut for UP in the state team.
