India wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant is currently teaming up with former legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh in the nets ahead of the upcoming IPL 2026 season. The two were seen having a serious discussion in the nets, with a clear focus on sharpening the LSG skipper’s overall batting approach.
Earlier in January, Pant suffered a side strain after being hit above the waist by a throwdown specialist just before the home ODI series against New Zealand. The left-handed batsman was ruled out of the home series. He is not a part of the Indian team for the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on home soil.

Rishabh Pant was the most expensive player in IPL history when Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bought him and appointed him as their captain. However, he has not been selected for the T20I squad after the World Cup 2024. They will have to perform well in IPL 2026 to get back into contention.
According to recent reports, Yuvraj has been actively guiding Pant during the training sessions. The former World Cup winner has always supported Pant’s aggressive playing style.
Yuvraj, who retired in June 2019 and was Player of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup, had earlier helped Sanju Samson ahead of the World Cup. His training sessions are helping Pant enter IPL 2026 in peak form.

Lucknow Super Giants begin preparations for IPL 2026 with new coaching setup
Lucknow Super Giants have already started their preparation camp, with Justin Langer also joining them to ensure that the players perform at their best. The franchise has made several changes in the staff and parted ways with mentor Zaheer Khan after just one season.
They have signed Bharat Arun as the bowling coach and Carl Crowe as the spin-bowling coach. Kane Williamson has also stepped in as a strategic advisor to add more experience to the team.
After Zaheer’s departure, there are rumors that LSG wants to make Yuvraj Singh the new mentor of the team. The franchise was in serious talks to make Yuvraj their head coach last year; However, they failed to sign him.
Rishabh Pant wants to return for LSG in IPL 2026
Rishabh Pant’s performance for Lucknow Super Giants last year was disappointing. He failed to perform well with the bat throughout the tournament and his captaincy was also under question due to the team not performing well.
However, he ended the season on a positive note by scoring a brilliant century against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Despite his past struggles, the LSG management have shown considerable confidence in him, and the left-back has been working very hard ahead of the new season.
