On the cricket field, Arjun currently represents the Goa cricket team at the domestic level after making his debut for Mumbai in 2021. He has had limited appearances in the Indian Premier League.
The left-arm fast bowler has played five matches for Mumbai Indians (MI), where he took three wickets and scored 13 runs. Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction, he was traded from Mumbai to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Gautam Gambhir’s Team India is gearing up for the high-voltage semi-final match
India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, will face England, captained by Harry Brook, in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, March 5.
The winner of this knockout encounter will travel to Ahmedabad to face New Zealand in the grand final at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, March 8. Notably, the Black Caps have already booked their spot after defeating South Africa by nine wickets in Kolkata.
The Men in Blue defeated West Indies by five wickets to book their place in the semi-finals. They successfully chased the target of 196 runs after Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 97 off 50 balls.
However, India still have concerns ahead of the match, as Abhishek Sharma has scored only one half-century, captain Suryakumar Yadav has looked shaky, and spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been inconsistent. The team’s fielding has also been disappointing.
India vs England T20 World Cup rivalry
Gautam Gambhir’s India and England have competed against each other in 29 T20 Internationals so far. The Men in Blue maintained their lead at 17-12. Notably, the rivalry is also close in the T20 World Cup, where India have a slight lead of 3-2 in their five tournament encounters.
Both the powerful teams have faced each other in the first two T20 World Cup semi-finals. In the 2022 edition, England chased India’s target of 169 runs and won by 10 wickets in just 16 overs.
India then took revenge with a thumping 68-run win over England in the 2024 semi-finals on their way to becoming champions. The defending champions will be hoping to win this year too and reach the finals.
