Rovman Powell hit three fours and two big sixes and scored important runs at an excellent strike rate of close to 179. Those two sixes helped him reach 150 sixes in T20I cricket. With this, Powell became the first West Indies player to hit 150 sixes in T20I cricket.

Powell is also the second-highest run-scorer for the Windies in T20I cricket, with 2,261 runs in 117 T20I innings so far. His average is around 26 and strike is above 141. He has also scored one century and 10 half-centuries in this format.
In the ongoing T20 World Cup, Powell has scored 149 runs in six innings at an average of 29.80 and a strike rate above 147. In his long T20 career, he has hit 394 sixes in 295 innings, and now he needs just six more sixes to reach the mammoth figure of 400 sixes in the format.
Powell is also close to another major milestone. He has scored 5,944 runs so far in T20 cricket and now needs only 56 runs to touch 6,000 T20 runs.
India reaches semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2026, West Indies loses
Talking about the match, the Caribbean team had a solid start. Roston Chase scored 40 runs in 25 balls with the help of five fours and one six. Captain Shai Hope added 32 runs in 33 balls with the help of three fours and one six. The duo added 68 runs in the opening partnership against India in Kolkata.
But things changed rapidly. West Indies slipped to 119/4 in 14.1 overs. Shimron Hetmyer tried to handle the team by scoring 27 runs in 12 balls. Then, Jason Holder scored 37 not out from 22 balls, while Powell showed some fight by scoring 34 not out from 19 balls.
The duo added 76 runs in just 35 balls, helping West Indies reach 195 for 4 in 20 overs in the Super 8 match. Chasing the target, India won the match by five wickets thanks to Sanju Samson’s unbeaten 97 runs and ousted West Indies from the tournament and made it to the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2026.
