Indian youngster and opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal gave up his biggest dream as a cricketer. The young cricketer is one of the most dynamic next generation talents in the country. Although he is not yet a regular cricketer across all formats, he has often been described as one.

Young Yashasvi Jaiswal first came into limelight when he played a brilliant innings for the Indian team during the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup in 2020. He was the highest run scorer in that tournament and was also the player of the tournament.

Although seen as an instantly talented player for the red ball team, Jaiswal has time and again proven that he is equally adept at playing both the white ball formats. However, since the inclusion of Abhishek Sharma, Jaiswal has been dropped from the shortest format for India.

Yashasvi Jaiswal reveals his biggest dream as a cricketer

While India are now busy with their ICC T20 World Cup campaign, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was not selected for the competition even as a reserve, was seen in an interview with legendary English batsman Kevin Pietersen.

The left-handed star batsman was asked about his biggest dream as a cricketer, to which he immediately replied that it is to win the World Cup for India. This could be one of the most vivid dreams for every cricketer who wears the blue jersey.

“My dream is to win the World Cup for my country,” said Jaiswal, who was interrupted by Pietersen asking whether it mattered whether it was 50-over or T20.

Jassiwal responded to Pietersen by saying, “Just one World Cup. Whatever game I’m playing for my country, I want to make sure I win the game for my team and my country. So that’s my dream; whenever I go in there, I want to be the best person who can make a difference. I just try my best and that’s what motivates me the most.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal can be one of the future Fab 4 batsmen in international cricket

Although Jaiswal made his ODI debut just a few games ago and has not had a very long career in the shortest format of the game, despite playing a very good role in India’s success in that format, he has often been touted as one of India’s future all-format stars.

Jasiwal is a regular part of the red-ball team. He has not missed any match for the Indian team in white attire. Although he has not been consistent yet, he has scored runs at all venues in the world and proved his ability to dominate the opponents.

He has also been selected as the next generation Fab4 player by cricket experts on several occasions. He could be one with Shubman Gill, who could replace Virat Kohli in the list in the next few years.

Yashasvi’s international career so far

The 24-year-old cricketer has some remarkable statistics for India, especially in Test cricket and holds some great records for such a young cricketer. He has played 28 Test matches in his career and has 2511 runs in his name, which includes 7 centuries and many double centuries.

His ODI debut came in the ODI series against South Africa last year and he scored his first century in the 50-over format in four matches. In a T20 career spanning between 2023 and 2024, he has scored 723 runs in 23 matches and also has one century to his name in that format. He plays for Rajasthan Royals in IPL and also has more than 2000 runs in IPL.
