India A defeated rivals Pakistan A by eight wickets in their second Group A match of the ongoing ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok, Thailand on Sunday, February 15.

India A dominates Pakistan A in Bangkok

The stars of the match for India were Vrinda Dinesh, Anushka Sharma, Saima Thakor and Radha Yadav. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first. That decision backfired badly. India’s fast bowler Saima Thakor struck early and broke the top order. Pakistan slipped to 21/4 inside the powerplay.

And then India A captain Radha Yadav took command. He removed Huraina Sajjad and Shawal Zulfikar as Pakistan slipped to 41/6 in 10 overs. Prema Rawat also took two wickets and maintained the pressure. However, Gul Rukh (21) and Anosha Nasir (17) have shown some fight.

He added 25 runs for the eighth wicket, but it was very little. Pakistan team was all out for just 93 runs in 18.5 overs, with Jintimani Kalita and Minnu Mani taking one wicket each. India needed only 94 runs to beat Pakistan A in Bangkok, but the chase got off to a dramatic start.

Anushka Sharma and Vrinda Dinesh lead India to an easy win

Humaira Qazi became the victim of Waheeda Akhtar on the very first ball. However, Anushka Sharma and Vrinda Dinesh staged a brilliant comeback to rebuild the innings. However, Vrinda was more dangerous, hitting Pakistan’s bowlers all around the ground.

India reached 63/1 in the powerplay and the match had already slipped past Pakistan A. Anushka scored 24 runs in 26 balls before being dismissed in the ninth over. Vrinda, on the other hand, completed her half-century in just 25 balls and scored 55 runs in 29 balls.

Tejal Hassabnis (12* off 5 balls) came in and finished the game brilliantly. He hit India’s only six and then a four to seal victory over Pakistan A in just 10.1 overs.

With this win, they moved up to second in Group A with two points from two matches. They had lost their ACC Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 opening match to UAE but are now back strongly. India A will next face Nepal on February 17 at the same venue.

never shake hands again

Earlier, India A and Pakistan A had not shaken hands before the match. This is no longer a new thing, as it is being followed since the Pahalgam terror attack last year. In recent times, whenever India and Pakistan meet in different formats and age groups, handshake has become a big talking point.

Interestingly, this happened on the same day when the senior men’s teams were getting ready for their big clash in the T20 World Cup 2026 in Colombo.

Before that big match, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav avoided giving a clear answer about shaking hands at the time of toss. Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga also kept the matter neutral and said that the situation will become clear on the day of the match.
