After Padikkal was out, the responsibility fell on KL Rahul, who was batting on 60, and Karun Nair, who was on 9. Both the batsmen now had the task of taking Karnataka closer to the target and keeping the innings steady in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 quarter-final clash against Mumbai.
Yashasvi’s batting struggle continues
Earlier in the match, Yashasvi had failed miserably with the bat. He could score only 5 runs in the first innings and then scored 36 runs in the second innings. Even though his batting did not make a big impact, his effort in fielding played a vital role in changing the momentum for Mumbai.
The left-handed batsman was recently overlooked for the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026. Well, Karnataka still need 212 runs to defeat Mumbai in the match to seal their place in the Ranji Trophy semi-finals.
