After rumors spread about Chahal’s alleged entry in the reality television show ‘The 50’, out-of-favour Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has rubbished reports of his participation in a reality show.

Chahal’s personal life has been full of storms and turmoil. He also divorced his wife, Dhanashree Verma, an Indian internet celebrity and dancer, last year, whom he married in 2020.

As for speculations, various reports claimed that Chahal will reunite with his ex-wife on the show. The 50 is India’s upcoming large-scale reality show, promising a bold new format that is set to disrupt the Indian reality TV playbook.

Yuzvendra Chahal dismisses rumors of participating in reality show

Speculations claimed that Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will now leave cricket and take part in the large-scale reality show ‘The 50’ to be held in India. It is scheduled to premiere on February 1.

Putting an end to all such statements, Chahal claimed that the currently doing news about his participation in the TV reality show is wrong. He is not associated with the show, and has ‘no discussions or commitments of this nature.’

Chahal said in a statement, “There is no truth in the news currently doing rounds about Yuzvendra Chahal participating in any reality show. These claims are imaginary and false. Yuzvendra is not associated with the shows mentioned in the recent reports, and there is no discussion or commitment of this nature. We request media platforms and social media users to refrain from spreading unverified information.”

Chahal was last seen in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2026

Throughout his international career, he was one of the highest wicket-takers for India in T20Is and was recently surpassed by bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya.

In his career of over 300 matches, he has taken 384 wickets and was last seen playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2025. He played his last List A game for Northamptonshire in August and then played three SMAT games against Puducherry, Punjab and Gujarat and took 4 wickets.

Chahal last played an ODI for India in 2023 against New Zealand in Indore, and then a T20I for India against West Indies in 2023.

Yuzvendra Chahal will be seen in action in IPL 2026

Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who is out of the Indian team, will be seen in action in the Indian Premier League 2026. He was retained by Punjab Kings after being bought in the 2025 mega-auction, where he was included in a huge bid of Rs 18 crore.

In 2024, he played for Rajasthan Royals and became the first bowler in the history of the game to take 200 wickets in the IPL. He was also a part of the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup squad, but missed the chance to be included in the eleven. Still he made the Indian team win the World Cup.

In the IPL, Yuzvendra Chahal has played for four franchises in the history of the tournament. After spending his best years in the RCB camp, Chahal has also had three stellar seasons in the IPL with Rajasthan Royals. In his career he took 221 wickets in 174 matches.
