Watch: Nikhil Chaudhary gets injured during BBL clash
Nikhil Chaudhary suffered a serious injury while fielding near the boundary during the ninth over of Melbourne Renegades’ innings. The incident occurred when Oliver Peak hit a big shot towards the deep off the ball of Rishad Hussain.
Choudhary ran from long-on and jumped near the rope in an attempt to take an overhead catch. The ball came into his hands but he could only push it across the boundary line for six runs.
Chaudhary landed awkwardly on his right shoulder and remained on the ground holding it, making it clear that something was wrong.
When he was having trouble moving his right hand, the physio came out to examine him. After several minutes of treatment on the field, Choudhary was helped up and taken to the dressing room for further evaluation. The injury looked serious and added to the Hurricanes’ growing injury concerns.

After a strong bowling show, Storm lost their sweat over Nikhil Chaudhary’s injury.
The Hobart Hurricanes are concerned about Nikhil Chaudhary’s injury, especially with Tim David already ruled out of the rest of the tournament. Choudhary has been among the run-scorers recently, and the team hopes he can play a role later in the match as well.
There is some hope that Chaudhary can still bat in the second innings. If the injury is classified as external, he will be allowed to bat in any order despite spending time off the field. Otherwise, he will be restricted to batting at No. 7 or below.
Hurricanes had a strong bowling performance on the field. After conceding 101 runs in the first 10 overs, they tightened up well and conceded only 61 runs in the last 10 as Melbourne Renegades failed to build partnerships, with several batsmen getting starts but none being able to convert them into big scores.
