Team India’s young batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi had to face an uncomfortable situation after the defeat in the Under-19 Asia Cup final against Pakistan in Dubai. As the batsman walked out of the stadium, a section of Pakistani fans jeered him and the scene was captured on video which quickly spread on social media.
Suryavanshi faced a tough defeat in the Under-19 Asia Cup final at the ICC Academy Ground. Chasing the target of 348 runs, India lost the wicket of captain Ayush Mhatre early. Suryavanshi scored 26 runs in just nine balls. He had a brief interaction with the bowler after his dismissal, a moment which attracted attention on social media.

After the match, as the players left the stadium, Vaibhav Suryavanshi faced criticism from a section of Pakistani fans. This incident happened after Pakistan’s victory in the Under-19 Asia Cup final.
A video of this moment quickly spread on social media. It showed the young batsman walking through the crowd while some fans were shouting at him. Despite the noise, Suryavanshi remained calm. He didn’t react, didn’t react and just kept walking.
Many people praised the 14-year-old boy for his patience. The left-handed batsman handled the uncomfortable situation with maturity beyond his years.

Pakistan dominated with bat and ball in U19 Asia Cup final
Pakistan registered a convincing win by scoring a huge first up thanks to Sameer Minhas’ explosive innings of 172 runs in 113 balls, which took them to 347/8. After this the bowlers took complete control, the pace attack distributed wickets and bowled out India for just 156 runs in 26.2 overs.
Despite the early fall of Ayush Mhatre’s wicket, India started the chase at a brisk pace. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 21 runs in the very first over and Aaron George increased the pace with three fours in one over, taking India’s score to around 10 runs per over.
The game suddenly turned in the space of two balls. George was out on the last ball of the fourth over and Suryavanshi was out on the first ball of the fifth over. That double blow broke India’s momentum, started the collapse and ended any real hope of a comeback.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi shone in the beginning but faded in the knockout.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi made a great start to the Under-19 Asia Cup. He scored a century against UAE in just 56 balls and scored 171 runs in 95 balls, which included nine fours and 14 sixes. Vaibhav also scored a half-century against Malaysia and achieved this feat in just 25 balls.
However, his form faltered when it mattered most. Suryavanshi failed to make an impact in the semi-finals against Sri Lanka and the final against Pakistan, leading to India’s loss in the knockout stage.
The 14-year-old still ended the tournament with 261 runs in five innings at an average of 52.20 and a strike rate of 182.51, including one century and one half-century. After the Under-19 campaign, he is expected to return to play in the Under-19 World Cup.
