The Pakistan Cricket Board has decided to take the issue of on-field conduct to the International Cricket Council after the Under-19 Asia Cup final in Dubai. This step has been taken after Pakistan Under-19 team mentor Sarfaraz Ahmed accused Indian players of inappropriate behavior during the summit clash on Sunday.

Pakistan defeated India by 191 runs in a one-sided match. After scoring a total of 347 runs, Pakistan’s bowlers dismantled India’s batting to achieve a big win. The win ended a long wait for the title, giving Pakistan their first Under-19 Asia Cup crown in 13 years and their second overall title in the tournament.

Speaking to the media at the welcome ceremony of the Under-19 team hosted by Shehbaz Sharif, Naqvi alleged that Indian players repeatedly provoked Pakistan cricketers during the match. He urged the governing body to ensure that discipline and respect is maintained at the junior international level.

“Indian players kept provoking Pakistani players during the Under-19 Asia Cup final,” Naqvi said. “Pakistan will formally inform the ICC about this incident. Politics and sports should always be kept separate.”

Indian players behaved inappropriately – Sarfaraz Ahmed

Earlier, Sarfaraz Ahmed had criticized the behavior of Indian players during the Under-19 Asia Cup final. He said that his actions were against the spirit of the game. Sarfaraz said that Pakistan players remained calm and did not cross any limits during the celebrations.

Sarfaraz said, “The Indian players behaved inappropriately and their conduct was against the spirit of the game. Despite their questionable behaviour, we did not cross the line during our celebrations. Cricket should be played in the right spirit.”

This is not the first time that tension has increased in cricket between India and Pakistan. Similar issues also occurred during the Senior Men’s Asia Cup, where both boards complained about the behavior of players in several matches, including the final.

Suryakumar Yadav was fined for his comments, Jasprit Bumrah was warned for a gesture, Haris Rauf was fined and banned for two matches, and Sahibzada Farhan received a reprimand.

Pakistan’s pace attack triggers collapse after big score

Pakistan scored 347 runs for the loss of eight wickets thanks to Sameer Minhas’s inning of 172 runs off 113 balls, which included 17 fours and nine sixes. Chasing such a huge target, India needed a special effort but they soon came under pressure due to Pakistan’s fast attack.

Despite the early fall of Ayush Mhatre’s wicket, India started chasing the target at a fast pace. Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 21 runs in the first over, while Aaron George hit three fours in one over, taking India’s score to 10 runs per over initially.

The match was overturned when George was caught out on the last ball of the fourth over and Suryavanshi was out on the very next ball. India slipped from 49/1 to 49/3 in two balls, marking the beginning of the collapse. Pakistan fast bowlers Ali Raza (4/42), Mohammad Syam (2/38) and Abdul Subhan (2/29) bowled out India for 156 runs in 26.2 overs.
