In the second innings of the Adelaide Test, England vice-captain Harry Brook left Australian opener Travis Head caught on 99* off the bowling of Jofra Archer. He completed his century by hitting a four off Joe Root and continued his love affair with the Adelaide Oval.
Australia have been completely dominant in the current edition of the Ashes. The Ashes victory in the first game in Perth was achieved on the back of some impressive batting from Travis Head. He then replaced the injured Usman Khawaja and became a solid opening option for the Australian team.
Travis Head scores another century after being dismissed for 99* in Adelaide
Australian opening batsman Travis Head has performed somewhat aggressively in these Ashes. The opening batsman brought up his second century in this Ashes series after hitting Joe Root for a boundary over the bowler’s head.
However, Head had already been out once in this innings, and that too at the most crucial juncture of the game, when he was just one step away from completing his century. Ben Stokes is out of the field and vice-captain Harry Brook is acting as England’s acting captain.
Fielding in the gully area, England’s stand-in captain dropped Travis Head as he attempted to cut a wide ball into the area between gully and point.
Head then continued his love affair with Adelaide, and two hometown boys, Alex Carey in the first innings and now Head in the second, reached their centuries. After his century, Head bowed and kissed the Adelaide pitch as a part of his century celebration.
Dropped at 99, kissed the deck at 100!
