England have confirmed their playing eleven for the third Test of the Ashes 2025-26 series from Wednesday, December 17 at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. The visitors have made one change to the squad, with fast bowler Josh Tongue brought back into the squad as they look to keep the series alive with a win.

England lost the second Test in Brisbane by eight wickets, leaving Australia with a 0–2 lead. Gus Atkinson has been left out of the playing eleven. With spinner Shoaib Bashir missing out once again, England have kept their faith in Will Jacks. The team management has backed Jacques to replace Bashir as the sole spinner.

The visiting team confirmed their final eleven for the third Ashes Test in an official announcement. Josh Tongue has replaced Gus Atkinson for the upcoming Adelaide Test.

“The England team has announced its squad for the third Ashes Test match to be held at the Adelaide Oval. We have made one change from the second Test match to be held in Brisbane and have included fast bowler Josh Tongue in place of Gus Atkinson,” the statement said.

Playing XI for the third Test: Jack Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Jamie Smith (wk), Will Jacks, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer, Josh Tongue.
