The much awaited marriage between Indian cricket stars Smriti Mandhana and musician Palash Muchhal has been put on hold, causing a wave of speculation on social media. Both families have now again responded to the rumors, offering clarity on the circumstances while requesting privacy for the couple as they recover from recent emotional and medical setbacks.
Smriti Mandhana’s brother reacted when a new date of marriage was fixed
Notably, several unverified reports recently claimed that the families had mutually agreed on the new wedding date of December 7 and had created quite a buzz. However, Mandhana’s brother, Shravan Mandhanastrongly denied these claims, saying that no revised plans had been discussed yet. He expressed that although the family is hopeful, the priority at this time is to ensure the well-being of Smriti and Palash after recent health incidents.
“I have no knowledge about these rumours. At the moment, it (the wedding) is still on hold.” This shows that discussions on the new deadline have not yet started, Shravan was quoted as saying by HT.
Palash Muchhal’s family is optimistic about marriage restoration
On the other hand, Palash’s family has adopted an optimistic outlook. His mother, Amita Muchhalacknowledged that the couple has endured emotional distress, but noted that both families have remained united and supportive during this challenging phase. She described the sudden medical emergency as extremely distressing, affecting the emotional well-being of not only the couple but the entire family. According to them, the delay is purely due to health concerns, and once the couple is completely stable, the celebrations will resume with new energy. Amita shared that preparations were already underway and the family had envisioned a warm welcome for the bride.
“Palash dreamed of coming home with his bride. I also planned a special reception. Everything will be fine; the wedding will happen very soon,” He expressed confidence that the marriage would go ahead sooner rather than later.
Although there is a slight difference in tone between the two families, both sides agree on the main issue: the couple’s health and emotional stability take priority over all plans. As of now, the wedding has been officially postponed, with no date confirmed from either family. However, what is certain is that there is a mutual determination to resume the festivities once both Smriti and Palash have fully recovered.
