On Wednesday, December 3, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the India national cricket team’s T20 squad for the upcoming series against the South Africa national cricket team.
Suryakumar Yadav-led India national cricket team is all set to take on Aiden Markram-led South Africa national cricket team in a five-match T20I series.
India and South Africa will face each other at five venues
India’s South Africa tour 2025 consists of a two-match Test series, a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series.
The Test series has already ended and the Proteas have registered a historic 2-0 clean sweep over the hosts, while the ODI series between the teams is still underway.
Talking about the T20 series, the opening match is to be played on Tuesday, December 9 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
Then, the action will move to New Chandigarh, where the teams will face each other on Thursday, December 11, at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.
The third match will be played on Sunday, December 14, at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala, and the fourth match will be played on Wednesday, December 17, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.
The fifth and final match of the series is scheduled to be held on Friday, December 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya return to T-20
Suryakumar Yadav will lead the team against the Proteas and will be supported by his deputy Shubman Gill, who has returned from a neck injury.
Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who was out of international cricket since the Asia Cup, has also returned. Players like Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Tilak Verma, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakraborty and Jasprit Bumrah are present. The rest of the team is on expected lines.
