Amid rumors of unrest around the Indian cricket team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is quietly taking action to bring peace as the team prepares to face South Africa in the 2nd ODI in Raipur on Wednesday, December 3.
According to a report by RevSportz, the BCCI quietly sent Indian selector Pragyan Ojha to Ranchi to defuse the growing tension between head coach Gautam Gambhir and senior players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. Ojha had then also traveled to Raipur with the Indian side.

Following the growing rift between Gautam Gambhir and the two legends of Indian cricket, the Indian selector’s task was to act as a bridge and ensure that everything remains calm inside the dressing room during the ongoing three-match ODI series against South Africa.

However, despite ongoing discussions, no BCCI meeting has been scheduled in Raipur, where India and South Africa will meet in the second ODI on Wednesday. At present, everything is behind closed doors, the players and the team management are maintaining silence on it.

Meanwhile, Raipur is gearing up for another major moment in the second ODI between India and the Proteas. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia is to be in the city to unveil India’s brand new T20 jersey, which will be worn during the upcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa. This jersey will also be India’s kit for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
