Legendary Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle has revealed his latest conversation with Indian legend Virat Kohli, who has confirmed that despite speculations, he will only continue to play in the ODI format, hence closing the doors to a Test comeback.
Recently, Virat Kohli has made a comeback in the one-day format and it looks like he has never been absent from the game. Kohli scored a match-winning half-century in the Sydney match of the Australia tour and then performed brilliantly in the next match in Ranchi.
Virat Kohli was chosen Player of the Match for scoring 135 runs with the help of 11 fours and 7 sixes in his innings. This is Kohli’s 52nd ODI century and 44th POTM award.
Harsha Bhogle reveals conversation with Virat Kohli on Test comeback
During the post-match conference, when Kohli collected his POTM award, he was seen talking to Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle, who almost irritated him with a direct question, for which Kohli appeared unprepared.
Harsh asked him about the rumor of his return to Test cricket; However, Kohli dismissed any such speculation as true and assured that he only intends to play ODI cricket. Some people on Twitter felt that Bhogle had harassed the cricketer with his questioning.
However, responding to the claims, Bhogle revealed that he had already asked the veteran cricketer if he could raise that topic. Bhogle responded to a fan’s question by saying, “I had already asked him if he would be comfortable if I put it in.”

When Kohli was asked if he intended to continue playing exclusively ODIs, he said, “Yes, and it will always be like that. I am playing just one format of the game.”
Virat Kohli claimed that all his preparation is mental
During the same post-match conference, Virat Kohli had claimed that after his experience of playing cricket for years, he depends on mental preparation to go out there and perform.
He also revealed that after some initial preparation, he took a day off before setting foot on match day because, according to him, he is 37 and has grown up, so his body needs some time to regenerate.
All these claims also show that Virat Kohli is now looking forward to a stress-free life, and returning to Test time in such critical conditions will definitely impact his mindset at this time. Therefore he has no desire to play in the red ball format again.
Virat Kohli scored his 7000th century in international cricket as soon as he returned to India.
In stark contrast to vintage Virat Kohli, his return to India was marked by a six-hitting spree. Kohli came back, got down the wicket, went in and out and pulled; He did all this to take the ball over the fence 7 times in his innings.
Virat Kohli completed his half-century as well as his century with a boundary stroke and later in the innings formed some brilliant partnerships with Rohit Sharma and then KL Rahul. He was part of a 136-run partnership with Rohit Sharma, who scored a half-century and broke the world record for centuries.
Virat’s century in Ranchi ODI is the 7000th ODI century in the history of international cricket. Kohli celebrated the century in his trademark style, jumping into the air and roaring like a lion.
