Indian women’s cricketer Smriti Mandhana got the best surprise of her life when she found her long-time boyfriend proposing with a ring on his knees at the same place where he got his biggest achievement as a cricketer.
Smriti Mandhana is considered one of the greatest cricketers of India. She was the deputy of Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur and contributed a lot to her success. He created a record by scoring 434 runs in nine innings.
She finished the edition with the second-highest number of runs behind South African captain Laura Wolvaardt. She was part of India’s first World Cup winning team. This is India’s best result so far in the World Cup after finishing as runner-up twice.
Palash Muchhal proposed Smriti Mandhana at DY Patil Stadium
In a sweet moment of surprise, Smriti Mandhana was left speechless by a wonderful surprise from her fiancĂ© and popular singer-composer Palash Muchhal. It took place at the same venue where India won the ICC Women’s World Cup final.
In a video that went viral after Palash shared it on his Instagram handle, he is seen blindfolded and carrying Smirmit to the middle of the pitch. As soon as she removed the blindfold, she found herself in the middle of the DY Patil Stadium and her longtime boyfriend was down on one knee.
Palash gave her the biggest surprise of his life and proposed her by giving her a ring. A happy and emotional Smriti accepted the proposal and they exchanged rings. Sharing the heart-touching video, Palash wrote, “She said yes.”
Smriti Mandhana will tie the knot on Sunday
As soon as Palash proposed to Smriti, all their friends ran to the middle of the field as they wanted to celebrate the occasion with the couple. Even famous Bollywood singer and Palash’s sister Palak Muchhal joined him at the venue.
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal both revealed that they are going to tie the knot on November 23. After the announcement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the couple.
Like her cover drive, Smriti also timed her wedding perfectly. She is in the best phase of her career as she has recently won a World Cup and will play another World Cup next year.

The Indian star is currently the fifth-highest run-scorer in the ODI format and the second-highest run-scorer in the shortest format of the game. She also has the second most centuries by a female cricketer, and is just 2 centuries away from surpassing former Australian captain Meg Lanning.
She also became the first captain to win a title for the RCB franchise as she won the WPL with Royal Challengers Bangalore Women in 2024 and is also the most expensive player in the history of the tournament.
