Former Indian team coach Sanjay Bangar has recently described former CSK all-rounder Ben Stokes as the best Test all-rounder and rated him above Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. He made the surprising choice during a special segment with ESPNcricinfo.

Recently, Sanjay Bangar was asked to pick one player who can be cited as a better all-rounder than Ravindra Jadeja in the longest format of the game. Jadeja has been India’s star performer in this format and has been showing a masterclass of his batting since the England tour.

Former cricketer Sanjay Bangar recently chose the former CSK star as the best Test all-rounder of all time compared to India’s Ravindra Jadeja. The 53-year-old former Indian coach, during a segment with ESPNcricinfo on ‘Shut up until you hear about a better Test all-rounder than Ravindra Jadeja’, picked someone better than Jadeja.

The segment started with India all-rounder Axar Patel and continued with the names of Jason Holder (West Indies), Mehidy Hasan Miraj (Bangladesh), Marco Johnson (South Africa), Mitchell Santner (New Zealand), Roston Chase (South Africa), Mitchell Marsh (Australia), Cameron Green (Australia) and Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh).

Sanjay Bangar spoke only when England all-rounder Ben Stokes’ name was taken. Bangar singled him out as superior to the Indian maestro.

Ravindra Jadeja currently tops the ICC Test all-rounder rankings

Jadeja recently created a new record as he was included in the exclusive list of cricketers with 4000+ runs and 300+ wickets in the longest format of the game. He joins Daniel Vettori, Kapil Dev and Ian Botham in the list of cricketers with the same record.

Notably, Jadeja is currently ranked no.1. No. 1 in the ICC men’s Test all-rounder rankings with an impressive rating of 426. He was one of the best players for India on the show, while on the other hand, Ben Stokes has 295 points and is currently ranked third in the list.

In his Test career, Jadeja scored 4035 runs with the bat in 131 Test innings, while he also took 342 wickets in 165 bowling innings for India. In comparison, Ben Stokes has scored 7032 runs in 206 innings and taken 230 wickets in 170 innings.

Jadeja was once again one of the best Indian players during his performance at the Eden Gardens

All-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was one of the standout players who performed brilliantly for India against South Africa in the recently concluded match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The biggest positive from his performance came with the ball during the second innings on the second day.

The Indian left-hander scored 27 and 18 runs in both the innings of the game and then took four wickets in the game. After taking no wickets in the first over, he recorded figures of 4/50 in 20 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja will remain one of India’s most important players as they move forward to the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati for the second Test starting on November 22.
