14-year-old opening batsman Vaibhav Suryavanshi has set the stage on fire in the ongoing ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 match on Friday, November 14.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi played an extraordinary innings on Children’s Day and punished the United Arab Emirates (UAE) bowlers at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi played a destructive innings
In the second match of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025, India A won the toss and elected to bat first. Two of the most aggressive young batsmen in the world – Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Priyansh Arya – opened the innings for India A, and fireworks were expected when they came into the middle.
However, India got off to a slow start and Priyansh Arya was run out on 10 off 6 balls on the fourth ball of the second over bowled by Mohammad Rohid Khan.
After that, it was a one-man show from 14-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who switched on his beast mode and made life hell for the UAE bowling unit.
He toyed with the UAE bowlers and Naman Dheer remained a mere spectator from the other end. Suryavanshi’s aggressive batting helped him reach the three-figure mark for India A in no time as he brought up his century off just 32 balls.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi created history
The batsman was not satisfied after scoring the century and continued to bat brilliantly before getting out in the 13th over. On the third ball of the 13th over, Muhammad Farazuddin managed to take the wicket of the explosive batsman. He played an inning of 144 runs in 42 balls with the help of 11 fours and 15 sixes.
At one time it seemed that Suryavanshi would score a double century, but unfortunately it did not happen. However, he still managed to set several records.
The left-handed batsman became the only batsman to score two T20 centuries in less than 35 balls and the first cricketer to score a century for India A in a T20 match.
At the age of 14 years and 232 days, Suryavanshi became the youngest player to score a century for the men’s national representative team, and his strike rate of 324.85 is the fourth highest for any men’s T20 century.
He scored 134 of his 144 runs via boundaries, which is 93.05% and only three people have scored more than fours and sixes in a T20 match.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has already scored centuries in the IPL, Youth ODI, Youth Test and now the Asia Cup, is putting pressure on the Ajit Agarkar-led BCCI selection committee to include him in the senior team and not evaluate him on the basis of his age.
