New Delhi. Experienced all-rounder Hardik Pandya thrashed Bangladeshi bowlers in his second match of T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8. Pandya hit fours and sixes at the Sir Vivian Richard Stadium in Antigua. While on this pitch, veteran batsmen like captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli missed their half-centuries, Pandya defeated the Bangladeshi bowlers. Pandya has become the first Indian to take 300 plus runs and 20 plus wickets in T20 World Cup history.
Hardik Pandya scored unbeaten 50 runs against Bangladesh with the help of 4 fours and 3 sixes in 27 balls. He along with Shivam Dubey made a partnership of 53 runs while along with Akshar Patel he added 35 unbeaten runs in 17 balls. On the basis of this explosive innings of Pandya, India scored 196 runs for 5 wickets. Pandya had taken 7 wickets in this World Cup before the match against Bangladesh. Hardik Pandya is performing well in batting, bowling and fielding in this World Cup.

Earlier, Bangladesh won the toss and asked India to bat first. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli made a partnership of 39 runs for the first wicket. Rohit returned to the pavilion after scoring 23 runs on 11 balls while Virat was out as the second wicket. Suryakumar Yadav hit a six on the first ball as soon as he came, but on the second ball he was caught by the wicketkeeper and walked away. Rishabh Pant was out after scoring 36 runs in 24 balls. India had lost 4 wickets for 108 runs. Shivam Dubey was out after scoring 34 runs while Akshar returned unbeaten on 3 runs.
India will reach the top with victory
Team India can get closer to the semi-finals by defeating Bangladesh. Team India had defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs in its first match of Super 8. Bangladesh lost in the first match. Australia defeated Bangladesh in Super 8 using Duckworth-Lewis rule. In such a situation, after winning this match, the Indian team will reach the top of Group A with 4 points. The coming into form of Shivam Dubey and Hardik Pandya is a good sign for the Indian team. Team India will face Australia in its third and last Super 8 match on June 24.
