Earlier, Shivam Dubey got a surprise promotion in the batting order during the fourth T20 match between India and Australia on Thursday. After batting at No. 8 in the last two matches, the left-handed batsman was moved to No. 3 this time to give him more time in the middle.
However, the move did not work out as planned. Dubey started cautiously, taking time to find his rhythm. Apart from hitting a six off Adam Zampa, he struggled to clear the ball. His innings ended at 22 runs off 18 balls at a strike rate of 122 when Nathan Ellis bowled him with a clever delivery.

Ellis aimed for the leg-stump line, and Dubey missed trying to play across, resulting in the ball hitting the stumps. It was a disappointing performance for Dubey, who could not make the most of the promotion despite expectations of the team’s quick and powerful start against Australia.
