Sunrisers Hyderabad have not had a good IPL 2025 season and they are looking to release some of their most important players ahead of the mini-auction. SRH is probably waiting for the release of its four veteran cricketers.

Sunrisers Hyderabad made it to the final of IPL 2024 but could not make the same impact in the next edition. With some commendable returns in the second half of the tournament, the SRH team finished sixth in the points table.

However, Sunrisers, who are known for scoring big, faced serious trouble in their batting line-up, and their bowlers also conceded a large number of runs. Therefore, some changes may be made in their team before the next season.

SRH to release two of its experienced fast bowlers before the mini-auction

As claimed by RevSportz reporter Rohit Juglan, the report states that IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad could release two of their most experienced bowlers from last season. SRH bought Mohammed Shami and Harshal Patel in the IPL mega auction.

Mohammed Shami was bought by Gujarat Titans for the highest bid of his career for Rs 10 crore after being released. He got a huge sum along with Harshal Patel, who was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad from Punjab Kings for a huge sum of Rs 8 crore.

Both could not perform anything special in the edition. Shami, in particular, had a despicable role in the team, as he gave away runs at an economy rate of almost 11. Harshal Patel had a comparatively better season and was the leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets. Reports suggest that these may be released before the mini-auction.

Sunrisers Hyderabad to get Rs 23 crore surplus in auction

Sunrisers Hyderabad retained their wicketkeeper and middle-order batsman Heinrich Klaasen, who was retained at a higher price than captain Pat Cummins. He was the most expensive player in the Sunrisers camp at Rs 23 crore.

Heinrich Klaasen was their highest scorer in the three seasons since IPL 2023. He was their second-highest scorer in the 2024 season, while he once again topped the list by scoring the most runs for SRH in IPL 2025. Despite his excellent form, Klaasen is likely to be released.

Sunrisers have said that Klaasen’s release will significantly increase their purse. This may help them garner some interesting bids in the upcoming mini-auction.

Sunrisers to stick with Pat Cummins and Travis Head for IPL 2026

Australian cricketer Pat Cummins has been captaining Sunrisers Hyderabad for many years since winning the World Cup title in India. Cummins led them to the final in the 2024 season.

On the other hand, Travis Head is an experienced opening batsman of the team. He has scored many runs for them and will remain a part of their team for the upcoming season as well. They can remain the two big names within the squad for the SRH team.
