Arshdeep Singh took 3 brilliant wickets
The left-arm fast bowler from Punjab has been quite unfortunate as he has not got the game time that he really deserves.
Arshdeep is currently considered one of the best bowlers in the world, but the Gautam Gambhir-led team management has not given him consistent opportunities.
He can fit into the playing eleven of any team in the world in all formats, but in the Indian team, he has been mostly on the bench for the last few months. This fast bowler from Punjab has been a part of the Indian team in all formats, but he has not been able to get a place in the playing eleven.
After being kept on the bench in the main matches of Asia Cup 2025, Arshdeep Singh was dropped from the playing eleven for the first two T20I matches against Australia in Canberra and Melbourne, and Harshit Rana was selected in his place.
Meanwhile, he was finally brought into the playing eleven for the third T20I, and he dismissed Travis Head and Josh Inglis in his first two overs. He also dismissed Marcus Stoinis and returned with bowling figures of 3/35.

“I’m just working on my process, trusting my skills and executing the plans I’ve practiced. It feels great to contribute whenever I get a chance.
Arshdeep also made it clear that he is not afraid of bowling to explosive batsmen; Instead, he enjoys bowling to them. He said:
“Yes (enjoying bowling to aggressive batsmen), definitely. When someone is attacking you hard, there is always a chance to take wickets.”
Batsmen often take more risks against me when Bumrah is bowling from the other end – Arshdeep Singh
Arshdeep further said that having Jasprit Bumrah as his bowling partner does wonders for him and helps him take wickets. he explained:
“And when someone like Bumrah is bowling from the other end, batsmen often take more risks against me, which gives me opportunities to take wickets.”
He said that he is enjoying his bowling with both the new and old balls at the moment.
The fast bowler further added, “I just try to enjoy my bowling and keep my plans simple. No matter the situation – powerplay or death – I just focus on execution and stick to what I have practised.”
