New Delhi. In the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, Team India has to face Bangladesh (India Vs Bangladesh) on June 22 in its second match of Super 8. Rohit Sharma Brigade, full of confidence after defeating Afghanistan in the preliminary match, would like to win this match and ensure entry into the last four. The Indian team’s record in the T20 World Cup against Bangladesh has been excellent. ‘Bangla Tigers’ have never been able to defeat us in the 4 matches played so far. Team India won all four matches of the T20 World Cup in 2009, 2014, 2016 and 2022. However, Team India is not going to make the mistake of underestimating Bangladesh on the basis of past record. Especially when, after losing to Australia by 28 runs (Duckworth-Lewis rule) in their first match of Super 8 on Friday, this match has become like ‘do or die’ for Bangladesh. Bangladesh team is a big force in ODI and T20 today and has reached Super 8 after performing brilliantly in group matches.
Team India will remember the match against Bangladesh in the 2022 T20 World Cup when Liton Das had brought the Indian team to the brink of defeat by saying ‘Halla’. The Indian team was somehow able to save its honor by winning this rain-affected match by 5 runs (Duckworth-Lewis rule). The Bangladeshi team has not been able to progress beyond the second round in the T20 World Cup so far and Nazmul Hussain Shanto’s team will be desperate to break this ‘barrier’ this time. Although many players of Bangladesh team are performing well in the current World Cup, but the player whom Team India needs to be most alert about is Mustafizur Rahman. This time, this left-arm fast bowler can give a tough test to the Indian batsmen along with 21-year-old Tanzim Hasan Sakib and wrist spinner Rishad Hussain.
Some are fast in scoring runs, some are ‘miser’ and some…, ‘elderly’ cricketers shine in T20 WC
Unmatched in both average and economy
28 year old Mustafizur has done wonders in almost every match of the team, taking 7 wickets at an average of 11.00 and economy of 4.27. Even though Tanzeem and Rishad (9-9 wickets) are ahead of him in terms of wickets, Mustafizur has no match in terms of wicket-taking ability and accurate bowling. Speed has never been the strong point of Mustafizur’s bowling. He is adept at ‘deceiving’ the batsmen with his cutters and slower ball. His bowling is so diverse that it is not easy to hit even in the death overs. In the match against Nepal, he, along with Tanzeem, played an important role in defending the score of 106 runs and forced the Nepali team, which had hitters like Kushal Malla and Deependra Singh Airi, to a 22-run defeat. This is the smallest score defended by any team in the T20 World Cup.

Most dot balls bowled in T20 World Cup 2024
Mustafizur has bowled the maximum number of dot balls in the T20 World Cup. Mustafizr has bowled 70 dot balls so far in this edition. He has a chance to further improve this record in the future matches. Anyway, the slow wickets of West Indies are suitable for their bowling. Mustafizur does not give much speed to the balls and is expert in rolling the wrist at the last moment, in such a situation the batsman gets out while trying to make the shot.

Took 27 wickets in T20 World Cup
Mustafizur, playing his fourth T20 World Cup, has so far taken 27 wickets in 20 T20 matches of the tournament at an average of 18.40 and an economy of 6.71. During this period, he has taken 5 wickets in one innings and 4 wickets once. In the T20 World Cup, he has only 2 wickets in his name in two matches against India, which he would like to compensate for in the match on June 22. Anyway, the 127 wickets taken in 101 T20I career at an average of 20.98 and economy of 7.38 (best 6/10) speak volumes about Mustafizur’s bowling skills.
Took 5 wickets in debut ODI, forced India to lose the series
Mustafizur started his ODI career against India in Mirpur and single-handedly forced the Indian team to defeat in the three-match series. He took 55 wickets for 50 runs in his debut ODI in 2015. Taking 6 wickets for 43 runs in the second match and 2 wickets for 57 runs in the third match, he took a total of 13 wickets in the series and became the Player of the Series.
Two batsmen were out 3 times on the first ball of the test, each time ‘victim’ of the same bowler.
When ‘Captain Cool’ got angry at Mustafizur
Mustafizur has also had a heated argument with Team India captain MS Dhoni on the field. This incident happened during an ODI between India and Bangladesh. Dhoni is usually very calm on the field but despite repeated warnings, Mustafizur was becoming a hindrance for the batsmen while bowling. They were coming in the way of the batsmen who were racing for runs. When Mustafizur did this again during Dhoni’s batting, the Indian cricketer pushed him hard with his shoulder. After this, Mustafizur was seen staggering on the field. After this incident, Dhoni was fined 75% of the match fee and Mustafizur was fined 50%. However, after this, Mustafizur has played for the Chennai Super Kings team captained by Dhoni in IPL 2024.
