Australian cricket has seen another major downfall as one of their young cricketers has suffered a serious injury during the net session of the match. The incident is being compared to the tragic 2014 accident that took the life of former Australian international cricket player Phil Hughes.

Similarly, Hughes was hit by a bouncer near his medulla oblongata while batting for South Australia against New South Wales during a Sheffield Shield game at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Fatal injury for a young Australian cricketer

A 17-year-old Australian cricketer is currently fighting for his life after being hit on the neck by the ball during a local T20 game played at the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday evening.

The incident came to light when the cricketer suffered a neck injury during the Ferntree Gully match at Valley Tew Reserve at 5 pm.

As soon as the player fell on the ground after a strong shock, people standing nearby immediately ran to help the cricketer and paramedics also came behind them. He was then taken to Monash Medical Center and has been on life support ever since.

The match was canceled after the Australian cricketer suffered a serious injury.

After Shreyas Iyer, this is the second such serious injury in Australia, but it is all the more serious as he has been kept under continuous life support, as reported by 7News, an Australian local news station in Melbourne.

The incident led to the match being abandoned, and the two clubs involved in the game, as well as Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria, have both shown support towards the player and officials.

It remains to be seen whether the youngster is able to recover from this tragic incident, and the safety measures taken in the sport will once again be the subject of major controversy.

India’s first T20 match against Australia canceled due to rain

India began its campaign in the shortest format of the game in Canberra, the capital of Australia. The Indians made a solid start to their campaign, with the Indian captain and vice-captain putting on an impressive stand of 62 runs in 35 balls.

Suryakumar looked in great form along with Shubman Gill. Sky were looking in great form after a long time and Gill also looked in good form after missing runs during the ODI tour. However, Raines had other plans for the Men in Blue as the match was abandoned in Canberra with less than 10 overs bowled.

Firstly, the revised DLS score of 71 was in the news if the Indian team did not come to bat next. However, the match officials eventually had to abandon the game as the rain was not letting up. The second T20 match will be played on Friday, October 31.
